Where the cords meet the bag
Every drawstring bag fails at the bottom corners, where the cords pass through. A bag with reinforced corners, ideally with a metal eyelet or a webbing patch, survives a season of use. A bag where the cord passes through the fabric alone tears on the first heavy load.

Material and format
Polyester is light, water resistant, and takes printing well. Non-woven is the cheapest option and the least durable. Recycled cotton and RPET perform the same as their virgin equivalents and support a sourcing claim.
Mesh versions let wet kit dry and suit swimming and sports. Clear vinyl versions meet stadium bag policies.
Padded cords are noticeably more comfortable than thin ones on a loaded bag.
