Custom Stylus Pens with Your Logo

A stylus pen does two jobs with one object, which is why it has quietly replaced the plain pen in a lot of corporate programs. People write on paper and tap on screens all day, and an item that handles both stays on the desk rather than in the drawer. The range covers retractable ballpoint pens with a stylus tip, metal executive stylus pens, recycled and bio-based barrels, and active styluses for tablets. For conventional writing instruments see Pens and Pencils.

Passive or active

Almost everything in this category is a passive stylus: a conductive rubber or fabric tip that a touchscreen reads as a finger. It needs no battery, it works on any capacitive screen, and it is accurate enough for tapping, scrolling, and signing. It is not accurate enough for drawing or handwriting notes.

An active stylus contains electronics and pairs with a specific tablet. It offers pressure sensitivity, palm rejection, and real precision, and it costs many times more. It is a premium gift for a known audience, not a general giveaway, because it only works with the devices it supports.

For almost every promotional program the passive stylus is the correct choice. Buy the active version only when you know exactly what tablet the recipient uses.

The tip is the weak point

Passive stylus tips wear out. A rubber dome tip is the cheapest and splits or flattens with use, sometimes within months. A fabric mesh tip glides better and lasts longer. A disc tip is the most precise and the most fragile.

If the pen is meant to last, choose fabric mesh and accept the small extra cost. A stylus with a perished tip is just a pen, and the recipient notices the failure rather than the feature.

The writing end still matters most

Buyers get distracted by the stylus and forget that the item is mostly used as a pen. The ink is what determines whether it gets kept.

Ballpoint is reliable, long-lasting, and the default. Gel writes more smoothly and darker but empties faster. Whichever you choose, insist on a smooth-writing refill, because a pen that skips gets thrown away regardless of what else it does.

Check that the refill is a standard size. A pen that can be refilled from any stationery cupboard stays in service for years; one with a proprietary cartridge is disposable in practice.

Barrel and decoration

Metal barrels feel substantial, take a clean laser engraving, and are the right choice for executive gifting. Engraving is permanent, which matters on an item handled constantly.

Plastic barrels, including recycled ABS and bio-based materials, take pad printing or screen printing in full brand colors at a much lower cost, with the trade-off that the print wears at the grip point over time.

Keep artwork simple. The imprint area is a narrow curved band, and a logo with a tagline becomes unreadable. Where a phone number or URL is essential, put it on the clip or the opposite side rather than crowding the mark.

Where they work

Stylus pens suit healthcare, where staff move between paper charts and tablets and cannot always use bare fingers; logistics and delivery, where signatures are captured on screens; retail and hospitality with tablet point-of-sale systems; banking and insurance; and any conference where attendees take notes on both paper and a device.

They are also a sensible upgrade from a plain pen when you want the same budget item to feel a step more considered. Browse the full range in Writing Instruments.
