Custom Safety Glasses and Eyewear
Safety eyewear is bought because it is required, which makes it one of the few promotional categories where the recipient has to have the item anyway. Putting your brand on the pair they actually wear at work is a far stronger position than competing for space on their desk. The range covers ANSI-rated safety glasses in clear, smoke, anti-fog and indoor/outdoor lenses, colored-lens sunglasses, eyewear retainers and cords, and eyeglass cases. The rating is the product
Safety eyewear sold for workplace use in the United States should meet ANSI Z87.1, and compliant products carry the Z87 marking on the frame. This is not a nice-to-have. Glasses without it cannot be used to satisfy a workplace eye protection requirement, and supplying them for that purpose is a real problem.
If a customer is buying eyewear for a job site, confirm the rating and the marking explicitly. If they are buying tinted glasses as a giveaway, be clear that these are not safety-rated unless they are.
Lens choices
Clear lenses are the standard for indoor and general work. Smoke or gray lenses are for outdoor work and should also carry UV protection. Indoor/outdoor lenses have a light mirror coating and suit workers moving between both.
Anti-fog coating is the feature that determines whether glasses are actually worn. Workers who fog up remove their glasses, which defeats the purpose entirely, so for warm or humid environments anti-fog is worth paying for.
Anti-scratch coating extends useful life considerably, since scratched lenses get discarded quickly.
Retainers and cases
Eyewear retainers, whether cord or neoprene, are inexpensive, heavily used, and offer a printable surface. They solve the practical problem of where glasses go when they come off, which is why they get used.
Cases extend the life of any eyewear and are a sensible low-cost addition to a program.
Safety eyewear suits construction, manufacturing, utilities, laboratories, trades suppliers, and industrial distributors.
