Embroidery coverage
Patches are quoted by coverage, meaning how much of the backing is stitched. Fifty percent coverage leaves the twill visible as part of the design and costs less. One hundred percent coverage stitches the whole face and looks richer.
Fine detail and small text do not survive embroidery. For a complex logo, a printed or woven patch reproduces detail that stitching cannot.
Backing and attachment
Iron-on backing is convenient and does not hold on technical or waterproof fabrics. Sew-on is permanent. Velcro backing suits uniforms where patches change.
Lapel pins work as recognition awards, and a butterfly clutch is standard while a locking clutch is worth specifying for anything valuable enough to lose.
These suit emergency services, military and veteran organizations, scouting and youth groups, sports clubs, service recognition programs, and heritage brands. Browse the wider range in Apparel & Accessories.
